Location : Minnesota or West Virginia residence required.

  • This is a remote position that will service our Suicide Prevention program. Qualified candidates must be licensed in the state they reside and must be within an hour’s drive of an Anthem office.

    Hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm or 10:00 am - 6:30 pm EST, Monday through Friday, local time.

    The Behavioral Health Case Manager I/II supports our members with serious substance abuse, substance abuse-related disorders, and/or mental health-related illness and is responsible for performing case management, telephonically, within the scope of licensure for these members.

    This position may be filled as BH Care Manager I or II - the level will be determined based on the candidate's experience and background

    Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

    • Use appropriate screening criteria, knowledge, and clinical judgment to assess member needs.

    • Conduct assessments to identify individual needs and develops care plan to address objectives and goals as identified during assessment.

    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the care plan and modifies the plan as needed.

    • Support member access to appropriate quality and cost-effective care.

    • Coordinate with internal and external resources to meet identified needs of the members and collaborates with providers.

    Behavioral Case Manager I Qualifications

    • Requires a current, active, and unrestricted LCSW, LICSW, LPC, LMFT, LMHC, RN, or clinical psychologist license (as allowed by applicable state law), from the state in which you reside.

    • Requires MS or MA in social work, counseling with a broad range of experience with complex psychiatric and substance abuse, or substance abuse disorder treatment; 3+ years of clinical experience, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

    • Telephonic and/or face-to-face behavioral health case management experience is required.

    • Excellent communication skills are required.

    • You must be competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with community mental health resources, CSB (Community Service Board), or similar is preferred.

    • Experience and/or training in Suicide Prevention programs are very helpful.
