Job Title: EAP Counselor – Full time (9am - 530pm, weekdays)

This is a full time union position in the Westland Michigan office. Currently working remote but will be a face to face position for UAW Ford Account upon return to the actual office. Local 412, Unit 70 in the union.

Due to the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, this position will require you to work remotely from your home with the expectation that you will return to a regular, in-office work environment. As we continue to monitor guidance from CDC and state officials there may be times you would need to report to the office on a monthly or quarterly basis for team meetings or engagement activities.

General Summary: Provide therapeutic evaluations of mental health and substance abuse clients, which includes the following: diagnostic assessments, determine appropriate treatment referrals, short-term problem resolution counseling and managed behavioral health care management functions. Must document all client assessments, follow-ups, and collateral contacts according to Policy and Procedure. Present didactic lectures on Workplace Services programs; service critical incident stress debriefings and provide crisis intervention. Special projects and all other duties, as assigned and or requested by the client.

Duties and Responsibilities

Linkage and interface with Community Mental Health (CMH) to ensure engagement in Intensive Case Management (ICM) when warranted. 1. Conduct individual counseling sessions with clients and families for problem identification. Provide needs assessment to determine appropriate treatment program/setting. Document all client assessments appropriately as indicated by Policy and Procedure. 2. Follow-up with the client, family and/or provider to ensure needs are met. Ensure treatment plan is followed. Verify and track results. Document all client follow-up appropriately as indicated by Policy & Procedure. 3. Conduct case management activities when indicated according to account specific guidelines. Document all case management activities appropriately as indicated by Policy and Procedure. 4. Facilitate aftercare and discharge planning when /where indicated. Document aftercare and discharge planning appropriately as indicated by Policy and Procedure. 5. Conduct didactic presentations, work-site/supervisory consultations, work-site interventions and critical incident debriefing as required by client companies. Facilitate informative lectures and presentations on Workplace Services programs. Document all presentations, consultations, interventions, debriefings and lectures appropriately as indicated by Policy and Procedure. 6. Apply Beacon policies and procedures consistently. Maintain confidentiality of Clients, Business Records and Reports. Maintain ethical and professional standards. Maintain individual productivity and performance standards. Meet Departmental expectations, accuracy, productivity, and performance standards. Support Beacon in achieving Mission Statement. Adhere to the components of the Compliance Program. Ensure that job tasks are performed in a legal and ethical manner. Actively assess work area for non-compliance issues and notify supervisor or call Ethics Hotline. Adhere to compliance training requirements and understand that training is required condition of employment. Complete tasks accurately and within required timeframes. 7. Participate in monthly team meetings on site/location of client. Provide Fitness of Duty Assessments (FFD); Follow-up and document all contacts per work flow; Outreach to EAP Affiliates out of the area; facilitate and ensure member service needs are met.

  1. Participate in Health Fairs and Provider Forums as dictated by client/company; facilitate onsite provider meetings as scheduled via network contracts. 9. Complete EAP Affiliate Invoices and submit to corporate finance for payment. Ensure appropriate documentation via inquiry in CareConnect. 10. Qualifications

Minimum Entry Level Qualifications

Education:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW), Psychology or closely related mental health discipline.

  • Licenses: Current, valid and unrestricted license in Michigan in a mental health field (RN, Ph.D., LCSW/ACSW, LLP, MHC, LPC, etc.).

  • Must possess a Michigan Clinical license, verified on LARA; minimum of 3 years experience in MHSUD. License must be current.

Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in conducting individual counseling sessions, assessing mental health and substance abuse problems and assessing appropriateness of care provided by referral services. A minimum of two (2) years presenting informative lectures or Workplace Services programs.
